Originally from the hills of Western PA (40 miles from Pittsburgh), where I grew up hunting, fishing, and eating only home-grown vegetables (as well as beef and chicken early on). Now living in Southeastern NY State, about an 80 minute drive from NYC. I am a licensed Professional Engineer in New York State, with considerable design experience in stormwater management and a concentration in construction management. Most of my spare time is spent in building projects around my 1.3 ac homestead and working on my vegetable and forest gardens.
I became interested in permaculture through gardening and because I wanted to live a more deliberate, authentic life in general. That led me to taking a PDC with Green Phoenix Permaculture in High Falls, NY (about 90 min north of NYC in the Hudson Valley), in 2012. To further my permaculture knowledge, I took Geoff Lawton's Online PDC in 2015. I am also expanding my knowledge around water resources through continuing education classes required for my engineering licensure and ongoing research in my spare time.
I am available for design and consulting work for homeowners, commercial property owners, engineers and architects, builders, and developers. I am passionate about helping people increase resiliency, reduce capital upkeep costs, and generally improve their quality of life through an ecologically-oriented design process.
