I am a solar installer and past commercial plumbing designer. I also served in the army for three years.
I came to be interested in permaculture through an interest in obtaining better quality food than has become commonly available. And it is still within my memory of visiting lots of farms and markets as a kid when we weren't so separated from where our food comes from. Anyone who loves cooking, as I do, has a serious desire to attain the best quality freshest ingredients. You cannot get any fresher than your own yard. That led ultimately to permaculture...somehow.
I am approximately two years into developing an urban food forest on about one third of an acre in an urban neighborhood near Atlanta GA. Before finding permaculture, I had tried to garden as best I knew how. Permaculture, struck a chord with me with it's discipline and methodology. It just makes sense.
