I spent my summers growing up on my grandparents' farms, and in the wilderness. My family has always has a strong inclination toward nature, frugality, resourcefulness and invention, which has shaped most of who I am today. My grandmothers are fantastic gardeners who canned and saved every last bit of food each year for the long cold winters and have graciously passed this knowledge on to me.
After completing university (B.Sc. in Physics), I moved with my husband to Calgary and worked in the Oil and Gas Industry. After five years, I could no longer stand what I was doing, and upon becoming pregnant, we moved back to Regina to live amongst our family and live a simpler life. Being a stay at home mom with a lessened income, my frugal nature took over, and I found myself becoming entrenched in urban homesteading, waste reduction, and spending every second possible in nature with my two boys. When looking for a career for when my boys returned to school, permaculture seemed to be such a natural fit.
I am now the proud owner of Edible Landscapes Permaculture Design and Consulting in Regina, SK, Canada!
