Throughout most of my adult life I worked as an animation artist, ending my career in 2010 after a 13 year stint with Walt Disney Imagineering, helping to design and populate virtual reality online environments. After taking my first PDC in Los Angeles in 2006, I began to shift my focus to working on real environmental systems and, since retiring, I've concentrated on applying urban permaculture principles to my home in North Hollywood and in educational efforts at local schools under the aegis of the UC Extension Common Ground Master Gardener program and the local urban forestry non-profit TreePeople. I was one of the founding members of Transition San Fernando Valley, and offered classes and other services through our San Fernando Valley Time Exchange for 8 years. In 2018 I moved away from California to a twelve acre propery in the North Fork Valley of Western Colorado with the intention of developing the land for regenerative agricultural purposes, connecting with the local permaculture community, and adding my admittedly small contribution to the effort to restore degraded ecosystems in the face of a changing climate.
