I live in Australia and have successfully completed the 2014 online permaculture design course.
I had become very disillusioned with the currently available food quality in supermarkets and the like. I felt I would prefer to contribute directly to the growers income by sourcing my food direct. This led me to the different ways food can be produced and then to permaculture and those systems used to ensure food abundance. I thought if I could help more people and communities supply their own food needs, I could reduce the unhealthy reliance on the corporate supermarkets.
My partner and I have recently moved to Bellingen on the mid north coast of NSW in Australia. We are looking to buy a property that will eventually supply our own needs as well as an excess that could be shared or sold within the community. I have taught within a community college environment in the past and would like to pursue the teaching of permaculture as my experience and knowledge increase.
