Sixty-something-MD embarking on retirement from my pathology practice and looking for a mission. Growing fruit and vegetables has always been my pastime passion.

I fell into the arms of Permaculture in 2013 after meeting Geoff Lawton and Bill Mollison on my evening youtube excursions. This was a match made in heaven! I took my PDC online as soon as possible and inhaled every word and concept.

Now, I am getting my urban backyard ready to show as a permaculture demonstration site. My husband and I have planted a food forest, dug swales and a pond, and have designed a glass house and glass garage with water harvesting to be built next Spring. I have already received invitations to speak and plan to start a Permaculture group in my town. What a fantastic "retirement"! Thank you!
