Growing up in rural Idaho, I've spent a large portion of my life involved with agriculture in some capacity. After WWOOFing in southern France following my high school graduation, I became interested in organic agriculture, which then led to further research and my "discovery" of permaculture. I love traveling the world and learning more about farming systems abroad. I graduated a few months ago with degrees in International Studies and Environmental Horticulture and hope to use them to work with smallholder farmers in lesser-developed countries.
Currently, I am working as a farm specialist for a demonstration farm through Washington State University and helping to establish test plots to show how permaculture and other sustainable farming practices might be integrated into an international agricultural setting. In fall of 2015, I hope to begin my Master's studies in Agricultural Sciences in the Tropics and Subtropics.
