I have a Bachelors Degree in Geology from Trinity College Dublin (TCD) and a Masters of Applied Science in Groundwater Studies from the University of New South Wales (UNSW).
My interest in Permaculture started when I was in Sydney doing my Masters. I was actively involved in Alfalfa House Food Cooperative where I met people who had completed PDCs and were practicing urban Permaculture.
In 2000 I participated in an 'Introduction to Permaculture Course' and in 2001 I participated in a 'Travelling with Permaculture' course, both run by Jill Finnane at Action for World Development
After a few years working at the Bower Re-use and Repair Centre and Reverse Garbage Re-use Centre, I completed my 1st PDC with Robyn Francis in 2005 at the UNSW Ecoliving Centre.
In May 2017 I completed a Permaculture Teaching Matters Course in Stremitz (Italy) led by Alfred Decker, Anna Bartoli and Alessandro Ardovini.
I live in the commune of Travacò Siccomario, just outside Pavia (35km south of Milan). We are near the confluence of the Ticino and Po rivers in the Pianura Padana.
I work as a volunteer in Ri-Diamo Reuse Centre and I am the founder of Repair cafe Pavia.
