I'm a retired IT guy and my small (.1 acre or 400 square meters) back yard was my first permaculture design.
I have four raised beds for annual production. Two level ditches for soil hydration and a small 150-gallon roof catchment system.
Trees include several varieties of peaches, pears, apples plums and citrus. There are also several bananas and figs.
Berries include aronia, blackberries, honeyberries and grapes.
Herbs are dill, oregano, sage, lemon balm and lemon grass.
Groundcovers under the trees are squash, beans, comfrey and many varieties of flowers.
The system is 3 years old and the most productive elements are the oldest; figs, berries and bananas.
