My name is Diego (37), I studied sculpture, graphic design and visual arts. I worked as an architectural model maker for 5 years and I currently work both as a designer and video maker. I grew up in a rural environment, I have knowledge on bricklaying and, since very young, I have always been attracted by natural life and pushed by a strong sense of justice and truth.
I believe it is essential for the survival of this world with increasingly scarce resources, to create a new culture that puts caring in the center of existence. Permaculture has given me the ideal view to change problems into solutions.
Now, having the PDC certificate, my idea is to create a sustainable system based on self-sufficiency that will guarantee supplies for a small family, as well as to establish a demonstration center, a place in which we could show and investigate different degrowth alternatives for a rural environment that will offer solutions for the future challenges we face as society.
Therefore it's important to place education at the centre of the project, focusing on the development of workshops and programmes that will emphasize on three core ideas (play / care / create) in direct relationship with the ethical basis of permaculture.
