I have extensive experience in the mechanical engineering field; welding, fitting, general maintenance, pumping etc. Most of my recent work is for the dairy industry. I have a Certificate in Farm Dairy Effluent: System Design and Management. I also have a strong interest in both native and farm ecosystems.

My 20ha property, Kettle Farm, near Waitati has a significant area of native bush, the balance is challenging land in a challenging climate. Mainstream farming practices on this land are not economically viable and, at best, lead to slow degradation of the soil and water quality. I first read about Mollison and Holmgren's work in 1991. After much experimenting and learning the hard way I took Geoff Lawton's online Permaculture Design Course in 2015.

I am now working on developing Kettle Farm with mixed livestock eating and trampling mature mixed herbage in a sheltered rotational grazing system. I am also available to share my experience and assist with design of sustainable and productive ecosystems.
