(projects i'm involved in)
I have at different points in my life been a U.S. Marine, a cowboy,a construction foreman, a chef, a baker, and numerous other sundry cogs in the machine. I have a wife and daughter and we all enjoy our projects and playing guitar.
After our daughter was born, the state of the world was not something we felt we could continue to ignore. This led to investigation of possible contingency plans. After taking a wilderness first responder course and buying some gear, we tried prepping, but, quickly realized that it was a non-sustainable option. We also felt it forced us into the same thinking we believe cause many of the problems we all face. We saw a Glen Martinez video and were amazed by how much sense it made.
First it was composting, then red worms. At some point we heard about Geoff Lawton, and it was game over. We built an aquaponic system on our third story balcony and I got my PDC. And quickly realized all the mistakes we had made. BUT, even with mistakes, they all worked. That settled it. This is my last, best career.
I am currently the owner of DirtRich Permaculture LLC. I am working on implementation of the design for my original PDC clients, with a small aquaponic install scheduled for the end of August 2015, a local church, and a first time agricultural property owner. (A long suffering horse property) And of course, we are always looking for people to help.
