I started out with a Bachelor's in Tropical Agriculture from the University of The West Indies in Trinidad.
I was trained in the use of chemical controls but was never quite comfortable using them.
I have been an organic farmer for 12 years but I wanted to do more than just be chemical free. I noticed the abundance of insect life I had on my farm, many that others here have not seen in YEARS so I started to research why my farm was so different. I discovered permaculture and started a page on facebook highlighting my experiments, then I met Mr Laurie who was impressed with my work, then I was made one of the local Government advisors to the CPRI project here in Barbados.
On completing the course I realized that I am now properly trained in techniques that I began to practice due to my own observations. I have begun to redesign my quarter acre farm and I will be focusing on water harvesting in urban garden designs since Barbados is classified as a water scarce region
