I'm an Architect and backyard farmer. I learned about permaculture through my research over the last several years into sustainable buildings and communities.

Presently, I am working on the Center for Sustainable Landscapes at the Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens. The facility aims to achieve 'Living Building' certification from the International Living Building Institute. Also, in late 2010, along with a few remarkable neighbors, I founded Transition Sewickley, a local resilience-building effort; part of TransitionUS and the global Transition Network.

I intend to continue my permaculture research with increased urgency, expand my knowledge base and consult and collaborate on permaculture projects.
