I work as a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) manager for a city government water utility. I have a BS in Wildlife Biology and a MS in Geosciences. Me, my wife and three children live on a 5 acres in a rural area 20 minutes from a small city.
I've always had a deep desire to stay connected with natural processes. So when I started researching information on gardening about 10 years ago and came across permaculture principles, I knew this was the way people were meant to live.
Currently we are attempting to turn our 5 acre home into a sustainable system for our future with permaculture ethics and principles in mind. Current projects include: transforming a small "orchard" into a forest garden (small patches at a time), adding more fruit and nut trees to the landscape, more perennial vegetables, hugelkultur beds, polycultures.......
