I first heard about permaculture when staying with a family in their farm in Dorrigo. As a nature and animal lover I felt very excited to learn more about it and continued to do so at my own pace, doing research on the internet and reading books. When my partner and I moved to Northern Rivers NSW in 2016, I decided to study Certificate III in permaculture at Byron Community College. I have since expanded my knowledge on the area and started my own veggie garden at our place in Doon Doon. We have many projects that we would like to do here and hoping to eventually have a small community on our property with likeminded, passionate people to work towards self sufficiency.
