I hold a BA in Communication and MSc in Environmental Management and I am very passionate about conserving our natural environment as well as collaborating and communicating with dependent communities and relevant stakeholders, in order to achieve this. I wanted to do the PDC at Wa Samaki because I felt it would give me new knowledge about the way we interact with our food, learning and understanding where it comes from, and how we can grow it in a sustainable manner, without the use of chemicals and fertilisers. I also wanted to engage with this permaculture community that has been growing in Trinidad and around the region, and was fortunate enough to get to know some incredibly inspiring people. I learnt so much more than I expected when I did this course! Currently, I am working as an Environmental Manager on Mustique in St. Vincent & The Grenadines, and we practice permaculture principles, which we plan to expand.
