I grew up in country NSW, and probably first heard of pemaculture in the early 90s when my Dad visited Bill Mollison's property at Tyalgum and was buying the Permaculture Journal. It's hard to recall when I first became interested. I did purchase 'Permaculture One' way back about then and still have the book.

My professional career involved working at several universities over 20 years whilst gardening organically and dabbling in permaculture in my spare time. After finally undertaking permaculture studies, I decided I really wanted to teach part-way through the APT3.

I was the Education and PDC Coordinator at Northey Street City Farm (www.nscf.org.au) in Brisbane in 2010-11. I taught into the PDC, APT courses and various workshops. Given the changes to the VET sector and other factors, I returned to a professional role in a university. Moved to Geelong in early 2012 and now designing a 1300m2 urban block and looking to teach permaculture again at some stage as it was one of the most rewarding things I've ever done.
