As a child I was extremely fortunate to have parents who were park rangers, and thus my love of the wild began. I learned early on that "wilderness" in reality does not exclude human beings: our ancestors lived indigenously, embedded in the natural world, since the beginning of time, and only recently did many of them begin to create and live a separation between humanity and nature. I seek to help repair this rift that my European ancestors began to live for whatever reason, in whatever way that I can. I have spent my life studying and practicing ecological restoration, landscaping, and indigenous worldviews and practices when it comes to relating with ourselves and the natural world. Currently I am in an MA/PhD program in Community Psychology, Liberation Psychology, Ecopsychology and Indigenous Psychology. I hope to somehow join my interests in permaculture, ecological restoration and ancestral skills with community building and healing on a societal level. This means engaging with social justice as well as working to heal the earth in whatever way I can.
