Denise Rushing has been empowering organizational and cultural transformation for over thirty years. She is an environmental engineer, organic grower and permaculture designer in Lake County, California.
An engineering graduate of Stanford University, she studied environmental science and later earned her Master's Degree in Culture and Spirituality from Holy Names College. Her business career as an energy-efficiency technology executive spans two decades.
In 2003, Denise began to apply permaculture to human systems. Her book: Tending the Soul's Garden, Permaculutre as a Way Forward in Difficult Times has been used as a text in permaculture classes specifically summarizing principles and applying permacluture to human systems, organizations and other invisible structures. At Dancing TreePeople Farm, she is working to regenerate the fertility of what was once traditional mono-culture agricultural land. Recently, she was elected to local public office on a platform of stewardship of the land, water and resources.
Today, Denise "permaculture gardens" on her farm, in her community and within organizations. Her mission is to empower the positive transformation of people, organizations and places through insight, inspiration and permaculture. She offers transformational workshops modules and materials to permaculturists through Dancing TreePeople publications. Visit Denise on the web at: www.deniserushing.net or www.deniserushing.info
