I discovered Permaculture whilst living in one of the most unsustainable cities/countries in the world, Dubai/United Arab Emirates..
Since learning about the great things that were being done around the world under the permaculture umbrella, I was energised and motivated to direct my own efforts to making a difference in Jamaica.
To further my education in this fascinating are I spent 4 months in Australia, the home of permaculture. While there I stayed mainly at Milkwood Permaculture, engaging on a PDC, some Wwoofing and completing a market gardening internship.. An awesome experience that also included touring other permaculture and growing sites in NSW and Canberra.
I am now based in Jamaica and want to connect with other permaculturists in the region. Also interested in hearing from those who managed to set up from scratch as I am doing.. How did you start getting momentum and establishing funding.. Critical questions to answer in establishing a permanent project in a beautiful yet underachieving country that desperately needs more permaculture thinking..
