Experience in local politics/urban agriculture, teacher introduction to permaculture, urban agriculture, school gardens, writing, creator of a Gardener's Planting Calendar for US climate zones 4-9, and quick reference guides for sale on the website. Currently working to bring various business endeavors into one product/service utilizing principles of gaming and social media in order to broaden the typical reach of permaculture and gardening. I am also continually studying creativity, leadership, poetry, and techniques for personal adaption to change.
I came to permaculture from the aspect of family history/childhood experiences, study of American Indian culture (and domestication of maize from archaeology), and design.
Current projects include: changing the current city chicken ordinance; creating/expanding urban agriculture regulations for the city; non-profit project creating a program through the Center for Sustainable Living to host the project Garden the City 2012: Painting with Edibles (10 themed food gardens in the downtown area utilizing aesthetics and classes, includes 13 community partners); continuing transition of My Edible Eden to online demographic of new gardeners; writing for online magazine; creation of a multiplayer online game community which integrates online knowledge gathering and community development, offline activities, and gathering of data to be used for city planning and non-profit organizations to plan for food security= glocalization.
