Raised in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, Keith developed an early interest in horticulture when he learned at the age of 7 that he was related to Johnny Appleseed on his mother's side. Permaculture was, thus, inevitable. Today he works and lives with Peter Bane at their home in Bloomington Indiana. He is the webmaster (since '97) for Permaculture Design Magazine (previously Permaculture Activist, the world's longest running permaculture periodical - https://www.permaculturedesignmagazine.com/), is on the editorial guild, and photographer. He also offers design and consulting services with Peter Bane through Patterns for Abundance and shares on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Vimeo.
Permaculture and Edible Landscaping Teacher / Designer since 1994 (via Gardens of the Heart, Sonoma Permaculture, Patterns for Abundance https://permacultureactivist.net/design/ ), organic gardener since 1976, landscaper since 1980, masonry / hardscapes since 1980. Suburban forest gardener, founder of Transition Bloomington, Board Member of Local Growers Guild. Member of the Food Security Council and the Bloomington Permaculture Guild. Trained roughly 600 students in PDCs in Ca, NC, TN, IN, MI, OH, Ontario.
Now resident in Montague Mi with Peter Bane at Blue Sky Polyculture https://permacultureactivist.net/blue-sky-permaculture/
