Perrine HERVE-GRUYER, aged 38, has already lived three different lives.
First an international business lawyer, she has practiced law in Asia, mostly in Tokyo (Japan) and Hong Kong.
Then, looking for a better quality of life, and willing to help other to do so, she studied to become a therapist (psychotherapy and massage).
Finally, in 2006, Perrine and Charles, her husband, decided to create their farm, "La Ferme du Bec Hellouin", in Normandy. They are certified 100% organic and grow vegetables and fruits; they produce apple juice, cider and bake bread.
In 2008 they found out about permaculture and as Perrine often says, this was a "revelation". Thanks to permaculture, working with nature in a priviledge environment (the village of Le Bec hellouin is classified among the most beautiful villages in France) is not only a reward but also gave the meaning to their lives they have been looking for.
They sell almost all their products directly through AMAP. They now collaborate with three of them and deliver 100 baskets per week, using only 5000 square meters of their 16 hectares farm to do so.
Perrine also got involved in politics and has been elected in 2010 with the French "Green party" as a Regional representative with the Regional Parliament of Haute-Normandie. She is in charge of developping organic agriculture there.
