Since I was a young boy being in nature has just felt right. The beauty of an ecosystem at work is at once very logical and magical to me. Modeling our systems and connecting them, like an ecosystem makes sense to me on a gut level, in my bones.
I've been practicing permaculture actively for the last 3 years. It's been an amazing journey and I still have so much to learn. There are many project that I'm grateful to be a part of and would like to help connect to other projects and generally raise awareness about permaculture.
I have a small homestead in the urban jungle of Austin, TX. We have a large kitchen garden, chickens, compost, rain water catchment, fruit trees and so on. Although I'm renting at this time, I've decided that I will practice permaculture here and trust that the next person will carry the torch.
I work with Hill Country Natives, a permaculture experimentation site and nursery in Leander, TX. We're using our young food forest to discover the best varieties for planting out in central TX and making them available locally.
