I've been in working in the solar power industry for 10 years and currently own a solar business that specialises in stand-alone (remote) power systems. I'm a typical country guy that's stuck in the city (Melbourne, Australia) and trying to get out, though at home I've converted most of my available food growing areas into just that.
I was introduced to permaculture in 2009 by Evan Young (evanyoung.com.au) I've always been interested in open spaces and gardening with the hope of one day owning/running a sustainable farm, however when l was researching Permaculture some personal philosophies, beliefs and passions started to come together more clearly - giving me clarity I've sought for most of my life.
Over the next few years I intend to travel for a bit ending in Brazil in 2014. I'm not sure how I'll get there and what will happen in between, but I am sure I will get myself involved with Permaculture projects to help others and to raise the awareness that there are alternatives.
After waiting over a year to do it, I've finally completed the PDC.
