I worked in grocery and retail for 13 years. I've had an interest in sustainable systems design and growing food for many years, learning mostly from books and some backyard gardening.
In February of 2011, I took a PDC in Tucson, Arizona and realized I definitely wanted to learn more. After the course, a classmate and I were hired to implement the master plan on the property we had done a collective design on during the course. I took a water harvesting course and then decided to try some consulting/design work with a friend I had met at the PDC. In fall I took a second PDC at the PRI in Lismore, NSW, Australia to get a different perspective and learn about the sub-tropics. I volunteered there at Zaytuna for five weeks and then another 3 weeks at various farms around Australia. In December I took a Permaculture Teacher Training course in Nimbin, NSW, Australia.
In 2012 I have been in Mexico, Washington, and Oregon working on various projects. Currently I have been traveling and I am available for design/consultation/installation anywhere. I'm looking forward to continue working and learning and enjoying life.
