With a long interest in sustainable agriculture, a few seasons of experience on organic farms, and a detour through graduate school in Economics, I finally found my way to permaculture as an editor at Chelsea Green Publishing, a leading publisher of permaculture books (among other topics) in North America. Inspired by the books and authors I was dealing with, in early 2010 I took my PDC and began working on designs for friends and acquaintances. In 2011 I hung out a shingle offering permaculture consulting in the Upper Valley area of Vermont/New Hampshire, USA, which has surprisingly little permaculture activity given proximity to a number of excellent designers/instructors. I work under the name of Terra Perma Design, www.terrapermadesign.com.
To date my consulting has been with home owners on properties ranging from 1/4 to 10 acres, most of whom are interested in forest gardening to some degree. On the side, I am developing "green-living" tools to reduce home energy consumption and improve gardening efficiency.
