I grew up exploring a patch of woodland close by my childhood home. Every chance I had I was looking under rocks. Or up a tree wanting to be part of natures magical world. Then as an adult, I went further and started exploring the four corners of the Earth. Over a decade later, I have returned back home to my roots. That patch of woodland is gone but my connection to nature remains strong.
I was blessed in my travels to witness permaculture being passed down inherently throughout various communities. Many not referring to it as permaculture but simply, as life. I even crossed paths with Robyn Frances and Geoff Lawton in Australia. But visa issues would not allow me to stay and study. Fortunately, when I arrived back to Philadelphia, I was able to acquire my Permaculture Design Certificate with Melissa Miles from the Eastern Permaculture Guild. It was an inspiring and insightful experience that fueled my desire to practice further.
At the moment, I am researching farms and schools to find the right internship. I would like to go deeper by living and learning hands on as part of a community. I wish to pass on all I experience. To travel and demonstrate permaculture in everlasting ways. To help protect and restore delicate areas that have been depleted through ignorance. When we reach out to one another in a positive way, a positive reaction is sure to occur. I look forward to knowing more of my local Philadelphia permaculture community. And being part of Permaculture all over the world!
