With my family I have worked toward a sustainable homestead for the past 25 years. We live in Tennessee on 5 acres with another 5 acres nearby. We are powered by the sun, harvest all of our water from the sky, and return our wastes to the soil with a humanure system.

The idea of permaculture came to us only in the past few years and since then we have been working to incorporate its principles into our lives. One of the best changes permaculture is making in our lives is the encouragement of community.

Currently we are working in two areas. First we are expanding our community base, both by encouraging other permaculture dreamers to move closer to us, and also by reaching out to the community that's already around us. Secondly we are gradually turning our main property into a food forest. It's such rewarding work!
