Based in Nairobi, Kenya with a big interest in economic development based in sustainable practices and environmental protection.
Permaculture applied in Africa seems like the most perfect way to meet these goals.
Got interested in permaculture while doing aid work and anthropological research around Africa. Found a lot of malnutrition, food crisis, environmental degradation going on in rural areas because of poor land use, deforestation.
Stumbled upon permaculture as an answer to restoring damaged eco systems and food foresting (as opposed to large scale grain and soya monocultures).
Took a pdc course in 2012,
Doing a pet demo project in my backyard near Nairobi.
Currently work at an ecolodge in Kilifi, on the Kenyan coast.
Long term project - Involved in establishing a permaculture center in Oltepesi, Kajiado on 100 acres.
This area is a dryland inhabited by pastoralists (Maasai tribe) and on 50 acres we are establishing demo site, outreach, research and learning center that will focus on water harvesting, eco system rehabilitation and food forests(arid area with periods of drought and deforestation for fuelwood).
and we are building an eco village on 50 acres for people who want to live and work there, build green, eco friendly businesses and their homes, work with the land or just chill. And also there is an opprtunity to do outreach work with the local community.
