I am a doctorate in Zoology. The Rio Summit took place during my days at college and I became familiar with terms like sustainability, biological diversity and its conservation, climate change...and created a drive in me to do something meaningful for our Mother Earth: Gaia.
However, life took over in its traditional pattern and my children took precedence. My association with Dwarakanath re-ignited the passion and to start with, I took a firm stand on home schooling, to teach and give my kids an opportunity to understand nature better. When Dwarakanath became involved in Permaculture, fortunately for me, it was a natural progression towards raising healthy kids in a healthy environment while being profoundly grateful to the resources and abundance of nature.
My personal interests found an easy platform and I did a PDC first under Upendra Sri Sainath and another under Dwarakanath Jnaneshwar Ekkirala. I am at present taking firm steps towards my goals of working for greening the world, by working on Urban Permaculture, Roof top gardening and have also taken a couple of projects in these areas. One of them is designing a food forest in a 300 square yard area in Boduppal area of Hyderabad, another being terrace gardening of our office at Nagole, Hyderabad. Both the projects are live and I will be putting further details, and some visuals for every one to share their thoughts on my work.
