(projects i'm involved in)
I am a jack of all trades, currently a database developer. Elements and interactions are in my sights, as I consider ways to map the interactions between elements with links to climate zones to provide an online searchable index of these elements, and provide an online (ipad iphone style) application for all to access.
I first became interested in Permaculture at age 16, however it has taken a further 25 years to formalise this interest. The opportunity arose when Geoff Lawton provided the first online PDC, and this meant finding time that suited around work was finally possible.
Our family have purchased some degraded dairy acreage (approximately 15 acres) located near Northam Western Australia. In hindsight this seems to fit well with making paradise where you are, a happy accident! More deliberately chosen were the site's northerly aspect, existing cleared 4.5 acres, large hard stand catchments and dam on the property. This one provides a lot of opportunity we believe.
Our intention is to set aside 10 acres for nature reserve and plant up a food forest and sustainable small scale nursery for native plants and edibles. This has been registered with Land for Wildlife (reg 454). We already have Red-breasted Robins, Blue Wrens and a wide variety of orchids and other native species that have returned by themselves due to the efforts of the previous owner of the property.
Being able to share the knowledge and resources with locals and design abundance is appealing.
