Background:
I just completed Geoff Lawton's Online PDC Certificate Course. I am a plumber by trade and work for a local Mechanical Contractor managing labor for about 30 plumbers, fitters, and pipe welders for various commercial construction projects. Married with 3 children ages 5 and under and a special needs sister-in-law. A Christian by faith.
How I became interested in Permaculture:
7 years ago researching alternate fuels, I came across a book by David Blume "Alcohol Can Be A Gas", also a Permaculture graduate of Bill Mollison, he presented a closed loop system of growing and producing your own fuel for home and Automobiles. Keith Addisson's "Journey To Forever" website continued the alternative fuel quest and has Permaculture influences. I bought Bill's Intro to Permaculture and his Design Manual, along with countless reference books. I stumbled onto Geoff's website and when this online course was offered, it was a no-brainer. The design aspect of Permaculture fits perfectly with how I feel the Earth and Universe is designed and that if that is true there has to be a designer (see above regarding my faith)
Present Permaculture activities/plans:
Implementing Permaculture design to my own property. Working with church mission trips to help design properties for the poor in the third world to provide efficient housing and feed themselves.
