Proud mother of two wonderful boys. I did my MA in archaeology (2007-2010) at Memorial University of Newfoundland (Canada). I also am co-founder of GAIA (the Group for Archaeological Interpretations and Analysis), a cooperative which offers specialized analyses in archaeology. I also am an instructor at Les Primitifs (www.lesprimitifs.com), a wilderness survival and awareness school in Quebec.
I am a hiker, I love gardening, cooking, horseback riding, dancing and crossfitting.
I came to be interested in permaculture through a process of finding meaning to my work. Archaeology is amazingly interesting, but I needed something more concrete than just creating knowledge, which I felt was what I was doing. I started gardening, than reading on organic gardening, and from there, found the word "permaculture". It changed my life! Then, through permies.com, I heard of the Permaculture Reasearch Institute in Australia, and Geoff Lawton of course. Their amazingly well informed, clear-minded, sound approach fascinated me. I felt I could become part of it. It connects the dots of all I have learned so far, culture, landscape, people, places, ancient worlds and technology... But gives this knowledge a concrete application, and makes me feel I can work to make the world a better place.
I completed my PDC certificate at the PRI (Australia) in 2013, and am currently working at creating the first permaculture center in Quebec, dedicated to research, education, and promotion of permaculture in boreal climates. It will be operational during the summer 2014.
