Growing and Cooking Tropical Vegetables Course

Posted by Elisabeth Fekonia almost 14 years ago

This ten week course will be held every Thursday and will focus on identifying, growing and cooking tropical vegetables.

These plants do very well in our sub-tropical climate and are very suitable in a food forest garden. The class room is at the Yandina Community Gardens and practical and theory are incorporated into the course. Students will be able to take home plenty of tropical vegetable plant material and there will also be a day of cooking these unusual vegetables with a sit down celebration meal. Growing these easy to grow water-wise foods will ensure food security for when times get tough. This course is based on four units from a Certificate ll in Horticulture. $210.00 and concession card holders can pay in installments. Commencing Thursday April 14, 2011.
