I'm a girl from the suburbs of Brisbane, Australia, who grew up hiking in sub-tropical rainforests and selling home-grown mint to neighbours. Coming to understand a bachelors degree in Environmental Engineering wasn't leading toward my life work, I have embarked on several years of international travel to explore, experience and engage.
In October 2009, while hanging out at a resource centre for organic medicinal plants in Northern Mozambique, I read Mollison's Introduction to Permaculture. This set me on a liberating and enthralling journey of exploring the philosophy and practice of all dimensions of permaculture. In July 2010, I found myself attending a PDC just outside of Lisbon, Portugal and discovering a world that spoke to my true sense of being. The people met and the information gathered have inspired and deepened my permaculture appreciation.
I seek to practice and spread permaculture in all ways possible. I am passionate about community. I am passionate about people having a true understanding of the environment and people who feed them 3 meals a day. I am passionate about nature being allowed it's abundance without the corruption of human meddling. I am passionate about freedom - creatively, socially, spiritually and financially. My current inspirations are David Holmgren, Vandana Shiva, Rob Hopkins, Arundati Roy & Joel Salatin, plus a host of unknowns who are truly living permaculture. From my novice position, I wish to engage deeply in permaculture practice so I can one day teach and design permaculture, helping Australians and beyond to connect with true, sustainable abundance in their daily lives.
