Always interested in organic gardening, natural building, and alternative energy. Got a geography degree at Sonoma State University (comes in handy for making design maps). Took some solar installation classes at Midwest Renewable Energy.
Became interested when I bought Bill's design book when it first came out in 1988. I was living in the California suburbs at the time, and couldn't relate to the arid land and tropical emphasis. Put it on the shelf, but kept it in the back of my mind.
Recently (2014) rekindled interest in Permaculture, took a PDC with Bill Wilson from Midwest Permaculture, and now happily part of the Permaculture community. I want to start a design service called River Town Permaculture.
I am in the process of building a resource center on a boat that will float down the Mississippi river from town to town, offering free local design information to people who have land and want to learn how to use permaculture techniques to improve it. Hope to offer workshops, showcase local designs, and create network of river town folk to support each other.
