From the arid american southwest to the midwest and finally the pacific northwest, I spent my childhood on an apparently mobile small farm. I grew up with animal chores and hated the senseless extra work - but distance makes the heart grow fonder, and I how I missed my little place when I moved away to university. After earning a B.S. in geography, specializing in international food politics and architecture, I again left for the wild wide world. There I really found permaculture.

Wwoofing in five countries and helping to build nine natural houses lead me to search for a PDC; which I found and completed with Richard Perkins in Thailand. I am interested in humanity's four needs; food, water, shelter, and community and to me, permaculture is the systematic study of these.

I am currently preparing for graduate school to peruse either architecture or food policy, and intend to return to my small farm whilst applying. Before returning to home Sweet Oregon, I will finish the season as farm manager at Richard Perkins' new farm in Åsen, Sweden.
