armando simon grew up in Uruguay, Brazil and Sweden,he has Lived observed and interacted in Southern Spain amongst many other places:

Ive worked as a concept maker for advertisement, movies/tv industry and as a teacher for Capoeira Angola and in schools with kids aged 10 to 14 mostly. Ive been waiting and/or demanding/protesting for somebody to do something til I got that that somebody was me."

Talking about life with a permaculturist in Denmark in the year 2000 Ive got Mollisons Designers Manual as a gift and it changed my life. Some time after I ripped half of my calender and went to the Mountains in Southern spain where Ive learned how the traditional folks Work the grapes and make wine; how they care for the olives and make olive-oil; how they Work with the almonds; tomatoes; their economy and everything else....always noting the differences with what the manual said and adviced in that climate and in others too...Ive stayed for a couple of years and came back to Denmark only to go back to Spain for visiting various Projects til the Desert of Tabernas in Andalucien found me...Crash course from raised beds and gardens to 136 ha of semi-arid land in degradation...I had to get the skills necessary to facilitate and make real a project of such dimensions and significance and I had to find my tribe to do this. The Desertification Issue is not only threatening the Whole Mediterranean area but the Whole World and I believe that the place is of importance for people and the permaculture movement as a whole.
