Trained as a environmental scientist at ETH Zurich, I bought along a good load of theoretical knowledge about ecosystems and an overview about the other issues linked to the environment.
While working as a civil servant on a farm in the Northwest of Switzerland I was introduced into the ideas of Permaculture.
A few years later I had the chance to take over a small farm with 6 hectares of grassland and forest on a steep slope in the Upper Emmental valley (famous for the holes in the cheese).
We are presently 6 adults and 4 children living here permanently on 1000 masl in a cool temperate climate with long winters and a short growing period.
Besides, I work as a consultant especially in the areas of renewable energies and rural development for private and governmental projects.
