I am the Founder and Director of Vital Places a consultancy practice that helps create better places for people and business.

Through my Landscape Architectural and Urban Design practice of over 30 years, I have specialised in shaping places that support local identity and lifestyle, and will thrive in the future. I am driven by a passion to help communities manage change in ways that support their social, cultural and economic futures. Over the years I have developed a unique understanding of the special needs facing the future prosperity of regional communities and have been involved in delivering innovative place-based approaches to the challenges of local growth. I am a strong advocate of the power of local governance and the critical role of local leaders in the formulation of smart infrastructure projects to support vibrant regional communities.

I am a qualified Urban Designer, Registered Landscape Architect, Corporate Member of the Planning Institute of Australia, Member of Economic Development Australia, an Australian Certified Economic Developer, Local eCommerce Marketer, published Author and regularly presents on strategies to create better places for people and business.

Early in 2014, I undertook Geoff Lawton’s online PDC and found his expert knowledge and the principles of permaculture a very good extension of my skills in Landscape Architectural and Urban Design. I am looking forward to integrating this deeper understanding into my current practice.
