(projects i'm involved in)
I'm currently 22 years old, and grew up into the business world following in my fathers footsteps. After finishing my associates degree in Business management, I began to realize the business life was not for me. I stumbled upon permaculture and began watching as many videos and reading all the articles I could. Then January 2015 I decided to commit to take my studies to the next level.
My permaculture experienced started in the online PDC provided by the regenerative leadership institute, which led me to realize I needed practical, on the ground experience. This led me to volunteering on a project in Bocas Del Toro, Panama, where I learned so much. I helped design a bamboo greenhouse, with 6 keyhole beds, and 2 herb spirals made from 7000 year old coral found on the site. I was also hands on in designing and planting a Gangamma's mandala garden, as well as over 500 new fruit and support trees into the fruit forest. I spent some time working in as many aspects as possible, from the forest, to the nursery and the greenhouse. I was lucky enough to receive a bit of training in herbalism as well, though I have plenty to learn in all my aspects of permaculture.
In July 2015 I received my PDC from PRI Australia, and am now commited to the 2 year internship here at Zaytuna Farms. I will be learning what it means to be a true generalist in the world of permaculture. My goal is to soak up all the information I can from the amazing people here, in order to grow myself into a permaculturist who can make a true difference in this world. Where this journey will take me from here is a mystery, but I'm loving every step of the way!
