Currently, I facilitate positive change as the Treasurer of Permaculture in New Zealand and Whaingaroa Environment Centre, Raglan, New Zealand. I live near Raglan and have experience in corporate account management which has progressed into business and organisational management of small business and not for profit organisations. My strengths are business acumen, inclusiveness, innovation and creative thinking/processes like Theory U. Facilitative leadership and strategic development are my passions within organisational development. Being nimble and adaptive, I thrive in diverse settings that challenge me and enjoy connections, data, sustainable development and building a community to make a difference for our future. I work as business manager for CLIMsystems part-time, a global leader in climate change software and consultancy to the UNDP, UNEP, Asian Development Bank, supporting access to the latest IPCC scientific climate change data for National Communications for Climate Change Adaptation for LDC's. Also, work part-time for Wimmer Design, a family business now designing and building tiny homes.
During summer months I teach others to create ollas for their garden in her pottery workshop in Waitetuna near Raglan and have facilitated the Solscape Permaculture Design Certificate CLIMATE MODULE, our home and property are used within this PDC as an example of appropriate PC design and technology.
Living a permaculture lifestyle with my husband and boys began in 1999 with the move to Raglan, through osmosis with the friends and support systems which this area offers. I have completed a PDC through Hamilton Permaculture the same year it was in transition to the Waikato Environment Centre (WEC), 2015. The following March I completed the Teacher Training under Robina McCurdy, Fin Mackesy, and Dan Palmer, following this I was employed by WEC to coordinate and develop the same PDC I participated in the year before. This focus was more towards a more urban-centric delivery and coordinated the Permaculture Educational Hui in Waitetuna at the end of 2016.
As far as PiNZ goes, I have been the bookkeeper since 2016 working behind the scenes and has now joined the council as treasurer. With a developing 1 ha property, we pour loads of effort into teaching permaculture to those who stay at La Finca and often use the tagline: I am changing the world, one WWOOfer at a time.
