Grew up in central Florida, graduated with a BS in Zoology from University of Florida in 1992, served in the Peace Corps as a beekeeper in Paraguay, S.A. from 1993-1995, currently employed by the University of Florida as a Senior Biological Scientist in Radiation Oncology.
I have always loved the outdoors and have been interested in permaculture since my Peace Corps days (at that time I didn't know it was permaculture!), where we taught things like plowing on contour and building rocket-mass stoves. When I heard about permaculture, it made a lot of sense! I jumped at the chance to take Geoff Lawton's first online PDC in May 2014.
I am currently working on implementing the design for my 5 acre homestead/farm, including swales with grazing cells, four food forests, and a pond. My dream is to have my homestead become a permaculture demonstration farm for educational purposes and to help others achieve their permaculture goals.
