My name is Alba de Cal. I am Permacultora, Social Worker and Nutritionist expert in Development Cooperation Projects. I graduated as Permacultora with PDC at the Runakawasi Foundation in Quito (Ecuador). Marcos Toscano was my teacher and showed me how important it is to make a good design taking into account all the elements that surround us. I came from a family of organic farmers and I grew up among orchards, chickens and pigs, which led me to study permaculture to improve the techniques of organic production and to manage the land in a natural way. For the last four years I have been working as a volunteer in the Red Cross and in the United Nations, managing development cooperation projects which have specialized in livelihoods with an agroecological approach. I would like to be able to apply permaculture to international cooperation and humanitarian aid to ensure access to healthy, nutritious food and to promote livelihoods through good land management. I personally believe that permaculture can help people improve their livelihoods and live harmoniously in nature without damaging the environment.
