I have practical experience apprenticing on organic, biodynamic and permaculture farms in the United States along with a theoretical knowledge built from reading the works of Bill Mollison, Sepp Holzer, Ben Falk, and many other well-respected authors in the permaculture community. In addition to my PDC, I am an Eco-Village Designer having accredation from the Findhorn Foundation's EDE of 2018. I chose Findhorn as a way to observe and learn from a long-lived intentional community which seemed to align with a great many of my principles. I continued my study on the dynamics at play in a functional eco-village at Tamera in Portugal this past September. I was curious to see the implementation of Sepp Holzer's design on regreening a portion of the desertified land of the Allentejo region and thus signed up for their intro and gardening course. I was also intrigued by their research into energy independence and waste management (their Stirling Engines and biodigesters being the two major avenues). I've apprenticed at Ben Falk's Whole System's Design Farm and I obtained my permaculture certification under Geoff Lawton at the Regreening the Desert Project in Jordan.
I've been passionate about the notion of regreening the deserts of the world since encountering the writing of Masanobu Fukuoka and what Geoff and GTD are doing in Jordan are truly inspiring and I'd love to bring some of that success to the man-made deserts of the United States.
