After various academic studies in Sweden and Austria in the fields of International Relations and Conflict Resolution, Art History and Human Ecology, I yearned for practical solutions and found Permaculture. In 2010 I started taking various courses and interning at different projects.
I began by spending 2 months at Tibá, Institute for Intuitive Technology and Bio-Architecture in the state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, founded by "the Barefoot Architect" Johan van Lengen, then took my PDC with Marcelo Bueno and Skye Riquelme at IPEMA, Institute for Permaculture of the Atlantic Rainforest in the mountain region Serra do Mar between Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo, interned 3 months at a natural coffee farm à la Fukuoka in Mococa, in the state of Sao Paulo, and am now assisting in the organization of a PDC on Mallorca, Spain, with the teachers Richard Perkins, Julio Cantos, Darren Doherty and Maria Svennbeck.
The course is organized and facilitated by the non-profit organization Open World Foundation, based in Sweden, where I have been volunteering for 3 years now on different projects i.e. “Replanting a Rainforest” and the development of the Open World Café network (openworldcafe.com), a virtual community of 400 + likeminded individuals from more than 20 countries, with an extensive photo library from Permaculture projects, videos and blogs on sustainability, resilience and leadership.
