I took my first PDC in 2008 on the Central Coast of California with Larry Santoyo. Followed that up with a Biodynamics short course with Gina Nonini from Marian Farms in Fresno, CA. In 2009, I took a Broadacre Permaculture/Keyline Design course with Darren Doughtery at The Orella Ranch near Santa Barbara, CA. Have been studying on my own about all things permaculture and will continue to for many more years.
One day while running my landscape business, I realized I wasn't anywhere close to being in tune with nature. I knew that somewhere out there were changes I could make to truly and wholely improve the Earth's habitats. I started with a search for chemical alternatives. That continued into gasoline-powered tool alternatives, edible landscaping ideas, use of recycled materials, etc. and kept going until I found permaculture. The discovery of permaculture was it. That was the answer I was searching for. It has changed my life forever.
Currently, I have a design/consult business with a website found at: www.plantSLO.com
Down the line, I aim to farm and produce food naturally, educate those unaware(mainly children although they are probably more aware than I am) and design small farms.
