I am a professional desk jockey wishing to leave the office behind and spend the rest of my life making a better planet.
I came to be interested in Permaculture after watching Geoff Lawton's Greening the Desert videos on Youtube.
My present Permaculture activities involve "Perryland Off The Grid", a small 2.5 acre property on the Carrizo Plain in south eastern San Luis Obispo Country in California. I started with a raw piece of land in a salted landscape in November 2010. By November 2011 I have successfully planted 43 trees using some pioneering species (such as Arizona Cypress, Afghan Pine, Cassia, Honey Locust, Mimosa) that will grow in the harsh environment and begin to turn the tide back towards forestation. I'm also experimenting with the Groasis Waterboxx as a method to jump start planting trees by seed, on site.
